NEW: Chemical Abstracts / SciFinder Scholar now available

The IUP Libraries now offers the ability to search through multiple databases offered by CAS (Chemical Abstracts Services), including Chemical Abstracts, using the SciFinder Scholar (SFS) software. Here’s a sample of what’s available via SFS:

  • More than 13 million single- and multi-step reactions
  • More than 1 billion predicted and experimental properties
  • The CAS REGISTRYSM database – the original source and final authority for CAS Registry Numbers – updated daily
  • All patent records, meeting CAS selection criteria, from 9 of the major patent offices are available online within 2 days of the patents’ issuance
  • Sequences combined from CAS and GenBank databases, which are indexed and linked to scientific journal and patent literature
  • Direct linking from SciFinder Scholar to IUP’s e-journal collection

NEW: American Physical Society Databases now available

IUP Libraries has recently acquired the full American Physical Society (APS) Online Database, which is now available to all IUP students and faculty. The APS-ALL Database Package includes complete, full-text articles for the following APS publications:

  • Physical Review A, B, C, D, and E
  • Physical Review Special Topics: Accelerators & Beams
  • Physical Review Special Topics: Physics Education Research
  • Physical Review Letters
  • Reviews of Modern Physics
  • Physical Review Online Archive (PROLA) – a complete archive of all APS publications going back to the 1880’s
